Nijmegen Day 1

22.30u
Well, Marieke is currently still having too many contractions (every 3 minutes) to go to the other ward. That's fine because then we can stay in the delivery room and a bed will be placed next to Marieke's and I can continue to sleep in the room. (In answer to your question Linda 🙂
So we'll just have to wait and see if anything happens tonight, and if not, we'll continue tomorrow. If there's no message, we'll just be asleep and nothing else has happened.

19.30u
After a lot of small contractions, the pills have worn off a bit and Marieke gets new ones. Frummel is very busy so things are going well with that. It's just very difficult to keep hearing the heart when Frum keeps swimming away 🙂 .
Depending on how these pills catch on, we will either continue tomorrow or if there is enough dilation we will break the waters.

15.30u
In the past 4 hours, hard bellies started coming a bit more frequently. Half an hour ago, Marieke took another round of pills and contractions started coming. There is no telling yet when labour will actually start, but it already looks like it will happen at least before the weekend.

12.00u
We are now in the delivery room and have already spoken to the midwife about how to proceed. Marieke has just had her first pill to initiate dilation. Now we are waiting for something to happen.

09.00u
We were called back that there is a spot available and we can come.

07.00u
Finally, we get to call the hospital. We are told that they are not yet sure if there is a place at the Nicu for our little one. We will be called back later.

Wow, what a detailed report. Excitingly exciting! How are you doing Nathanaël? Arno often experienced it as 'I stand there and watch' a bit helpless huh? Fortunately, it is being built up quietly and looks like the natural.... We are praying for you and keep following this blog closely! Strength... Love!

Dear Nathanael and Marieke (& frummel),

We checked your blog almost every hour today ;-) super that you keep everyone up to date! Although that might become a bit more difficult as time goes on, because you will be busy... We are going to sleep soon, but are already looking forward to tomorrow's blog. We are praying for you, and with us many others. Dear ones, let God be your guide, He is good!

Love,

Liesbeth, Wietse and Sam
