Getting a call 1 hour before departure that there is no room in the ward to stay overnight. Appointment moved to Tuesday 27 December - then we don't have to ask for time off as it is our Christmas holiday.

*sigh*
Then take it from there and cozy up together to the Christmas market ...
Not much to do about it, unfortunately. At the hospital, they also had to cancel 3 appointments and corresponding doctors because there was no bed available. But it does demand the utmost of your flexibility, energy and emotions from time to time. The other side is that after a week of force-feeding - despite struggling - Gideon has gained some weight. And it helps that he hasn't spit up for the past 3 days.
We are going to do our best to give him as much as possible without putting a negative connotation on food. And then hope the weight continues. Who knows, maybe in a fortnight no tube will be needed at all 😛

Ow bah how recognisable. Have you fully charged up, you have to turn 180 degrees again. But it if all goes well, are you in Nijmegen now? How is Gideon doing? Lots of love from us!

Dear, beautiful family, I read this blog from time to time and am deeply touched by all you have been through and what is currently another worry for Gideon. Like you, we have had to miss a child who had CHD. I sympathise and pray with you. Jesus is our hold, our hope when everything is so difficult. Love .

As an old acquaintance of the Klomp family, I have been following the events surrounding Gideon with great interest for some time now. I wish you all the best and hope you have a happy Christmas despite everything. These are dark times, in which we need faith, hope and love more than ever.

So much strength what a wonderful thing it would be if Gideon strengthens even more and does not need a tube. I am praying with you! Much love.

I wish you lots of strength. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy Christmas together. I think about you a lot and I think it's incredibly clever how you are doing this. Cuddles for Gideon and maybe I'll see him at the laak farm. Greetings Mirjam.

Dear Fam. ter Borg,
We follow your family through this site. We are very sympathetic to your struggle to solve or make Gideon's medical problems more tolerable. We hope you can still keep up your parental strength, there is bound to be some improvement. Furthermore, we wish you happy holidays and for 2017 good recuperative health.
To Nathanael ; possibly there will be a time after this difficult period to make beautiful songs with your guitar.
Kind regards,
Inge and Frans van Kesteren
