Gideon slept through from 12am last night until we arrived. What a handsome boy! He's all Gideon again. Comfortable, easy to comfort and way too sweet 🙂 .
Another microgram goes off the morphine today. If all goes well, he will be completely off the morphine in 3 days, YES!
It remains to be seen whether they will leave Gideon on the CPAP for another day today or try the low flow again. We think he can handle it, because he showed the same values on the low flow (before the 'withdrawal symptoms') as on the CPAP. But we let go of that too and trust that God is leading this process too.
We are also doing well. Regularly asked about my (Marieke's) condition, I can honestly say it is going well. From last Wednesday, we haven't used the wheelchair and it's going very well. I get energy from fresh outdoor air and the walks to and from the hospital. I just really have no symptoms and that's super cool! And I can wear my regular trousers again, also nice 🙂 .
In the evening, I completely collapse, but that's okay. I think that is also due to the fact that we then have to leave Gideon behind for the night, which remains really difficult.
We keep saying it, but we are so proud of our brave little man. He is doing so well and he is an overachiever! We can't wait to take him home and really start our life as a family in full force. We are already enjoying him so much, that will only get more!!!

Things are going well. Today, Gideon also spent all day on the CPAP again to really give him some rest. He deserved that and he has used the rest very well so far. He slept pretty much all day.
He is doing well so we are too 🙂

Congratulations on the birth of your second son! We have been thinking about you guys regularly and are very happy to read that your victor is doing so well!!! What a beautiful little guy! At the same time, it all seems very heavy to us emotionally... but how strong you are.
