Gideon day 136
If no more weird things happen we will go home tomorrow afternoon as it looks like!
Gideon has been without lowflow and no problems since early this morning. He also has almost no fever today and has not vomited at all for 3 days. Yes!
Because the blood they drew from Gideon showed an increase in inflammation levels, but there was nothing else to indicate why he had the fever, they have also stopped the heavy antibiotics since today (after 5 days, which is a minimum for the cure).
Gideon only had a bit of a fever again tonight, but that could also be because since this morning we also stopped the paracetamol suppository he was given 3 times a day. Now we just keep an eye on him and if he seems to be in pain we can still give him a suppository.
We just haven't spoken to a doctor or surgeon yet. The surgeon did want to take a look at Gideon's abdomen and check everything else before we are really allowed to leave for good, but he was prevented from doing so today due to emergencies. Tomorrow we will be the first on his list so hopefully he will come early so we can leave early too.
Gideon is really doing a lot better now. He's smiling again when you go crazy and is a lot easier to put to sleep. As far as we are concerned, time to go home!

Dear all three. How nice.Going home tomorrow. You guys are great. The story about Easter: TOP. Your question about how to cope with all this............there is only one answer, in my opinion. Don't let yourself be led by your own or your surroundings' emotions. Live the life given to you confidently in the moment of now. Now is now, yesterday is gone and tomorrow is yet to come. You are a great example to others and know better than anyone else that God is there because you literally experience him in the moment. The only answer is LIVE the LIFE and let emotions pass by but don't let them take on a life of their own/live. Keep it up and enjoy what you have. You are the best. Kind regards, rosemareine
