Gideon is 3 years old

Hip hip hurrah. 3 years!

We had a really fun birthday. How wonderful it is to see Gideon enjoying himself so much. It is the first time he really knew it was his birthday and also the first birthday he has been able to fully enjoy. We kept it extra quiet this weekend and on his birthday limited visits to 2 hours just some family in the afternoon. It was unfortunate that we couldn't invite more people to his birthday because we still have to pay close attention to his energy, especially now. But he did sleep through the night last night and did not spit up, which we are very happy about.

His health is doing well under the circumstances. The wound is still open, but healing well. We are on a pretty heavy course of antibiotics and in two weeks we will see if it does what it is supposed to do. Apart from two days of heavy fever a week after the operation, he has not been ill since. He did have some hospital visits to check his blood levels, but nothing else serious.

We are very relieved that his birthday went well, and we are now reminiscing. Gideon is and remains cheerful, right through everything. To finish, here's a nice little film. He loves cheese, and at least there is nothing wrong with his ears 🙂 .
