(No more hospital) day 10

Here we are. Got home yesterday from a bizarre adventure, a week after surgery. What a delight!The three of us are recovering (and sleeping) very hard. Only now do we notice how tired we are and the past week feels like a blur. But how special it is to be home again as a family after all we have been through. And Gideon is doing well! He slept wonderfully last night without any problems. And today we even took a lap on the balance bike. It even seems like his condition is better now than before the operation. And his energy is also starting to come back. Jumping into bed with us this morning and on the sofa this afternoon. This is how it should be. Not in the hospital, but at home with our own smells, things, privacy and things. When Marieke started cooking, she got the steamer/blender out of the attic again and that works well! In the coming days we will mainly watch how Gideon does and see what he indicates, but he already seems to have more appetite than before the operation. We also finally got a report made of the operation, many people were curious to know how everything went. A beautiful story with a special and wonderful twist!	So here we are. And his energy starts to come back. This morning jumping on our bed and in the afternoon on the couch. As it should be. Not in the hospital, but at home with our own odours, belongings, privacy and things.We can now determine for ourselves how we do the building up with the food, of course keeping to the advice namely for the time being (thick) liquid. When Marieke was cooking, she also again used the steamer / blender we used to make liquid meals when he was a baby and it works well! In the coming days we will look at how Gideon is doing and see what he wants, but he seems to have more appitite than before surgery.And we finally have made a written record of what happened during the operation. Many people were still curious how everything has expired. A beautiful story with a special and wonderful twist!
