Hospital day 5

Gideon, after an intense evening/night, is stable again and today's ultrasound looked much better. So the frequent spitting and severe pain last night was most likely caused by colic pain (really nasty for himself). The positive thing though is that this was due to the passing of the clots from the kidney, which had yet to happen.
Gideon has endured 4 major abdominal surgeries in his life and therefore there is a risk of e.g. a bowel obstruction, so the relief is great.
If things continue to go well, the catheter may come out on Monday morning, then stay another 24 for observation and then hopefully go home.

Now trying to drink and eat easily digestible food again. 🙏
Grateful for now and (cautiously) hopeful. 🙌

Meanwhile, Rosalie and Marieke had another restless night at home. Rosalie was already sick, but last night she had a fever of 41 degrees and could only moan. Hopefully better soon.

The whole situation is spicy and previously we did not have to go through this separately. Very much looking forward to being home and together again. Just a little longer...?
