We had a night without moments of pain! Not clear why it went off without a hitch now. We started the tube feedings later (11pm instead of 5pm) to try to give the stomach a bit more rest and process the day's feedings. But apart from the tube itself not going through properly and me having to fix it, Gideon didn't notice anything and was able to sleep through the night. We are further preparing a bit to go home. Strange to suddenly have a different perspective. Marieke has already tidied things up in both rooms to put most of it in the suitcases. Just in case... We also have a CT scan scheduled for this afternoon. Our concern was that he would then have to have another drip (which was just taken out yesterday) and drink a lot of contrast fluid. But on enquiry and consultation, an infusion is not necessary and the contrast fluid can be done via the tube. That makes a big difference.

We look back at a night without pain moments! Unclear why it went without a hitch this time. We have started later with the feeding tube (11:00pm instead of 5:00pm) to try to give the stomach a little more time to process the food of the day. But apart from that the probe itself was not flowing well a few times, Gideon slept through it the whole night. We are preparing a little to go home. Strange to suddenly have a different perspective. Marieke has already cleared both chambers a bit to have the majority at in the suitcases. Just in case ...Furthermore, this afternoon we still have a CT scan on the schedule. Our concern was that he would need to have an IV again (which he had just taken out yesterday) and had to drink a lot of contrast fluid. But after a talk with the doctors he does not need the IV and contrast can be given via the probe. That is a big relief.
